I am entering my final year as a Computer Engineering student and I currently serve as the SHPE External Vice President. My role consists of building relationships with our chapter and corporate sponsors as well as facilitating relationships with surrounding SHPE chapters. I look forward to increasing member retention and improving member success rate in securing job and internship opportunities by exploring new professional development workshops this upcoming school year. Super excited to see what we do this year as a chapter! Outside of SHPE, I play Ultimate Frisbee for the Women’s Club Team at NYU and work at Apple as a Technical Specialist. During my free time, I collect sneakers, curate playlists on Spotify, and love being active!

My name is Javier Lechuga. I am a 3rd year student studying Mechanical Engineering. I am currently the Internal Vice President of the NYU SHPE chapter. My role is to plan, prepare, and execute all of the events we host during the year. I am constantly looking for ways to make our events more inclusive and fun! Jonathan Reyes

My name is Jonathan Reyes and I am a rising senior studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Construction Management. My current role under SHPE NYU is Treasurer. This position deals with all of the finances involved from internal expenses to event budget allocation. To introduce myself, I have been involved within SHPE NYU since my freshman year. I had the opportunity to become Freshman Ambassador, Academic Excellence Chair, and Secretary. Throughout these previous roles, I have learned what it means to become a professional, adapt to the SHPE culture, and create a familia within the Tandon community. I am excited to take on this new role and lucky to be on the board!

My name is Joel Mendoza and I am a rising junior studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. As a the Secretary for NYU SHPE, I'll be sending the Weekly newsletter to the SHPE Familia and NYU community to ensure all events and opportunities are available to all. Along with setting up the events by coordinating the catering and room for each event. Outside of SHPE, I'm apart of NYU BAJA as Composite Co-lead, NYU Concrete Canoe Co-Construction Captain, and Makerspace TA. Other than keeping busy outside of study I'm also hobbyist maker of 3D prints, woodworker, and cook.

My name is Naya Acosta and I am a junior studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. I am currently the SHPE NYU Public Relations Chair. My role includes informing the Tandon community with all the events we host and fundraisers we are apart of through either social media, email, or flyers. Outside of SHPE, I am also a part of NYU Undergraduate Student Council as the school’s Director of Student Success, I am involved in NYU’s Vertically Integrated Project Hyperloop, and I am an Engineering Forum TA at NYU . I’m excited to continue making a difference on the NYU student body and our familia through SHPE NYU!

Angel Martinez

My name is Angel Martinez and I am a sophomore studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Aerospace. I am currently the SHPE Community Outreach Chair. My roles include planning/running the “Día de Ciencias” event, planning/running community-based and local events, and getting in contact with youth about potential futures in STEM. While in this role, I hope to revive and grow SHPE Jr, focusing on outreach to minority students interested in STEM. Outside of SHPE, I am also a member of the Automotive Society, ASME, and undergraduate research. I participate in the TRIO scholars program, as well as an AnBryce Scholarship Recipient.

In my position I’m in charge of running MentorSHPE, making sure that 'La Biblia' is up to date and just generally making sure everyone in SHPE has a good academic year.
